What are the uses of lithium bromide in the chemical industry

      Lithium bromide (LiBr) is a strong hygroscopic agent, efficient absorbent, organic synthesis aid, and lithium/bromine source in the chemical industry. Its core applications are concentrated in refrigeration, gas treatment, organic synthesis, materials, and electrochemistry.
1、 Absorption refrigeration and dehumidification (the core application in chemical/industrial industries)
      Absorption refrigeration machine working fluid: 54% -55% LiBr solution as absorbent, water as refrigerant, to achieve refrigeration cycle under vacuum.
It can be driven by industrial waste heat, waste heat, solar energy, and geothermal energy, suitable for chemical parks, data centers, and large-scale process cooling.
Free of Freon, environmentally friendly, suitable for chemical scenarios that require stable cooling sources.
      Industrial dehumidification/drying: used for solution dehumidification and deep humidity control in precision workshops, warehouses, and chemical raw material warehouses.
2、 Gas purification and deep drying
      Hydrogen chloride (HCl) remover: Absorbs HCl in organic synthesis and chlorination processes to purify reaction exhaust gas.
      Gas deep drying: Strong moisture absorption, used for drying natural gas, petroleum associated gas, process gas, compressed air, with high dehydration depth.
      Air/inert gas purification: removes moisture and trace impurities, used for high-purity gas preparation.
3、 Organic synthesis and catalysis
      Organic reaction catalyst/promoter: used for halogenation, substitution, condensation, oxidation, dehydrogenation and other reactions to promote the progress of the reaction.
      Solvent/Co solvent: Dissolve organic substrates to enhance reaction rate and selectivity.
      Fiber leavening agent: used for puffing natural fibers such as wool and hair to improve textile performance.
4、 Synthesis and Raw Materials of Lithium Salt/Bromide
      Preparation of other lithium salts, such as lithium bromide, lithium carbonate, lithium hydroxide, lithium phosphate, etc., for use in batteries, ceramics, metallurgy, etc.
      Preparation of metal bromides, such as copper bromide, mercury bromide, strontium bromide, etc., for use in electroplating, catalysts, and electronic materials.
      Battery electrolyte: used for high-energy lithium batteries, micro batteries, and special electrochemical systems, providing Li ⁺ conductive channels.
5、 Analysis and Material Application
      Analytical reagents: used for the detection and quantitative analysis of metal ions, halogens, and sulfides.
      Metal surface treatment: As a component of cleaning agents, passivators, and corrosion inhibitors, it protects metals such as steel.
      6、 Other chemical supporting purposes
      Thermal energy storage medium: utilizing the characteristics of heat absorption and release, used for industrial waste heat recovery and energy storage systems.
