The core risks of ammonium bromide (NH ₄ Br) are deliquescence, exposure to acid and toxic cigarette, and high-temperature decomposition. Storage must be done in a cool, dry, and sealed manner, with strict isolation of prohibited substances, avoiding light and heat, moisture and damage.
1、 Environmental conditions (key)
Temperature: 15-25 ℃ in a cool warehouse, away from heat sources/open flames/direct sunlight; It is strictly prohibited to decompose ammonia and bromine gas (toxic and corrosive) at high temperatures above 30 ℃.
Humidity: Dry (RH<60%), well ventilated; This product has slight deliquescence, moisture absorption, clumping, yellowing, decreased purity, and even hydrolysis.
Light exposure: Avoid light, UV light accelerates decomposition and discoloration.
2、 Containers and stacking
Packaging: Original sealed, bucket/bag lined with PE plastic bag; The container must be sealed to prevent moisture absorption and dust leakage.
Stacking: 10cm off the ground and 50cm off the wall, moisture-proof and ventilated; Handle with care to prevent packaging damage; Not under heavy pressure, not mixed with sharp objects.
Identification: Clearly label with "ammonium bromide, moisture-proof, light proof, isolated acid" and hazardous material signs.
3、 Strict isolation (taboo items)
Must be stored separately (with a spacing of ≥ 1.5m or solid wall isolation):
Acid (strong acid/weak acid/acidic salt): Contact releases highly toxic and corrosive cigarette such as hydrogen bromide and ammonia gas.
Strong alkali, alkali metal (K, Na): The reaction releases heat and generates ammonia gas.
Strong oxidizing agents, bromine/fluorine compounds (such as BrF3): can easily cause reactions and release toxic gases.
Metal powder, food/feed, flammable materials: Avoid contamination and accidental reactions.
4、 Daily management
Warehouse inspection: Appearance white crystalline, no clumping or yellowing, packaging intact and sealed.
Regular inspection: check temperature and humidity, container sealing, and whether there is any leakage/clumping/discoloration; First come, first out to shorten the inventory period.
Operation protection: Wear dust masks, goggles, acid and alkali resistant gloves; Avoid inhaling dust and skin/eye contact; No eating, no fume.
5、 Emergency and Taboos
Leakage: Absorb a little amount with dry sand/inert material, collect and seal; Build a large number of embankments to block and prevent water from flowing into the body of water; Personnel wear gas masks and protective clothing.
Fire: Use dry powder, CO ₂, sand; Prohibit direct flowing water (prevent moisture and prevent diffusion).
Taboo: It is strictly prohibited to store/mix with acid during transportation; Open storage is strictly prohibited; It is strictly prohibited to expose to high temperatures and direct sunlight.
