Bromoacetic acid belongs to Class 8 corrosive hazardous chemicals (solid UN3425, solution UN1938), with Class II packaging. It has strong corrosion and irritation, and the packaging must be sealed to prevent leakage. It is divided into two categories: little-scale reagent packaging and industrial bulk packaging:
1、 little batch reagent grade (laboratory, little order)
1. Screw mouth glass bottle: 10g, 25g, 100g, 250g, 500g, commonly used, with sealing gasket inside, and wooden case/foam protection for the outer box.
2. Plastic bottle (corrosion-resistant HDPE bottle): 1kg specification, resistant to organic acid corrosion, screw cap sealed.
The exterior of the little package must be affixed with a GHS hazard label for corrosive substances.
2、 Industrial bulk packaging (factory procurement, 5kg, 10kg, 25kg)
1. Corrosion resistant plastic bucket (PE bucket): mainstream solution, with inner sealing cover and outer cover locked; Suitable for solid bromoacetic acid, corrosion-resistant, and not easily broken.
2. Open steel drum: lined with anti-corrosion plastic bag, used for 25kg industrial packaging, which is a packaging method recognized by hazardous regulations.
3. The barrel is wrapped in a wooden box for reinforcement (commonly used for export shipping) to prevent collision damage.
Solution type bromoacetic acid (liquid)
Priority should be given to using plastic containers lined with corrosion-resistant layers. Glass bottles should be used with caution as there is a higher risk of liquid leakage. UN1938 corrosion product packaging requirements should be strictly followed.
Mandatory packaging requirements
1. All packaging must be completely sealed. Bromoacetic acid is prone to moisture absorption, which increases its corrosiveness;
2. Outer packaging label: corrosion warning label, product MSDS, product name, UN number;
3. Export shipping by sea belongs to marine pollutants, and the packaging must meet the IMDG hazardous regulations Class II packaging drop and leakage prevention tests;
4. Ordinary unlined cardboard boxes are prohibited from being directly packed, and ordinary metal containers are not allowed to come into direct contact with bromoacetic acid.
